Ten minutes before this image was made it was one of the most severe rainstorms I've ever seen in my live. Loud cracks of thunder, lighting striking on the other side of the lake... we were all standing inside conversing and enjoying life when suddenly the rains parted and Eve ran up to her husband and said, 'JB let's go take out the caaaaaaannnnnnooooooooooooeeeeeee!' (yeah, she said it just like that) So I followed them out as they paddled around for a bit in the shadow of Mt. Monadnock, glad to be outside. I got drenched as I shot from the dock... eventually lying down on my stomach to bring the camera to water level to include the beautiful mountain in the frame, but it was so worth it. Minutes after this image was made, the skies opened up again but Eve and JB were happy - they got in their little canoe ride in the beautiful New Hampshire sunlight.
