Sometimes it's not the faces of people that stir our emotions, is the situation that we see and then imagine ourselves within. I saw Laura set down her flowers and hike up her dress as climb up on the railing to join Ray as he pointed out something going on over at the Jefferson Memorial. Taking a step back I started thinking about creating a multilayered image incorporating aspects of their culture and the background they come from, their wide eyed curiosity, and the fact that they chose Washington D.C to have their celebration - flying in people from all over the world including Scotland and Egypt. The Rolls in the foreground, the beautiful Washington Monument in the background, and the curious couple in traditional Scottish garb tying the frame together - the many varied aspects of their life colliding in one deceptively simple frame that tells a wonderful story.
